It has been weeks since I participated in Weekly Craft Challenges. It has been weeks since I did anything related to crafting for longer than 20 minutes. Why you may ask. Work-related expectations really take their toll on personal time, especially crafting time. A few things, preparation for Parent-Teacher conferences, the actual conferences, then catching up on all the things you need to do, and deadlines. You surely get the idea.
Sadly, with the change of weather and germs flying around the Little Ones are constantly sick. I have at least 8 at school who are feeling poorly. And yes, it definitely played a role in my getting sick. One’s immune system can only take so much before it crushes and cannot handle the onslaughts anymore. Add to that a very busy schedule over the weekend, which did not leave me much time to recuperate, nor the energy to do anything crafty.
I received a new stamp which was delivered on Saturday morning. However, I was out of town and came back late on Saturday night. Then, the consequent struggle to fall asleep all night, took a nap in the afternoon, and felt a bit better early evening, so much so that I took a few minutes that night to play with my new stamp.
I loved playing with my stamp pads and stamps. I simply stamped on a tag and took it from there. There was no plan when I started. However, I like how it turned out. Don’t you agree, those are often the best projects those unplanned ones.
Sadly, last night I really felt awful. I was on an emotional roller coaster. So, I played with stamps and ink again, stamping a background page that I will use in making journal cards or tags. I couldn’t muster more than that, so I went to bed early. However, it feels as if I never slept last night.
Sometimes we just need to be reminded that if breathing is all we did for today, then so be it. Do not try and exert yourself. There will be days like these, and they might appear more often than we cared. But when they do, do not judge yourself for if breathing was all you could do for today, it is enough for you. If waking up and staring out the window is all that you can do, then so be it.
If you only have 40% and you gave 40%, you actually gave 100%. Always remember that. And that is completely okay.

I agree with you, you can only do as much as you can for that day, Sending hugs and hope you feel better soon. 🌸
